Victoria Gin
Founder & CEO
Victoria Gin grew up playing tennis and spent years watching used strings get thrown away after every restring.
As a student of economics and environmental studies at the University of Chicago, Victoria began connecting the dots between the sport she loves and the waste it quietly generated. She saw pounds of polyester strings being discarded, with strings that sit in landfills for over 500 years — and asked a question nobody had seriously asked before: what if those strings had a second life?
Before founding Second Serve, Victoria built her career at the intersection of finance and sustainability — first at Goldman Sachs' natural resources investment banking group, then in energy private equity, where she developed a deep understanding of how circular economy infrastructure gets built. Her experience gave her both the analytical framework and the conviction to turn a problem she witnessed on the court into a business.
Victoria's commitment to closing the loop on tennis string waste is both professional and personal — driven by a belief that the sport she loves shouldn't cost the planet.
Patrick McEnroe

Patrick McEnroe is a former professional tennis player who has gone on to build a career as a coach and longtime broadcaster.
McEnroe starred collegiately at Stanford, where he was a three-time singles All-American from 1986 to 1988 and helped lead the Cardinal to the NCAA team title in his senior year. He turned pro in 1988, and over his 10-year professional career, he won one singles title and 16 doubles titles, including the 1989 French Open, achieving career-high rankings of World No. 28 in singles and world No. 3 in doubles. His best Grand Slam singles run came at the 1991 Australian Open, where he advanced to the semifinals.
After retiring from the tour in 1998, McEnroe built an influential career off the court. In 2000, he was named the 38th U.S. Davis Cup captain, a role in which he led the team to the title in 2007 — the U.S.'s first Davis Cup win since 1995. McEnroe served as the longest-tenured captain and coach of the United States Davis Cup team for 10 years.
McEnroe also served as General Manager of USTA Player Development starting in 2008, stepping down in 2014, and later became co-director of the John McEnroe Tennis Academy in New York.
Alongside these roles, McEnroe continues to work as a tennis commentator for ESPN and previously CBS Sports. More recently, he's remained a prominent voice in tennis and sports commentary, including his podcast MacDaddy Show and Holding Court Show with SiriusXM.
